Our Approach:
We Work Differently

A divorce can be one of life’s greatest challenges and greatest opportunities. We believe that divorce does not have to be the end of your life and it does not have to be an endless, complicated undertaking. It is an opportunity for a new and better life, and we are committed to assisting you as you write your new story, as quickly and efficiently as possible.

We are different from other law firms in that we address our clients as a whole person. Our firm has a network of highly qualified professionals which include financial advisors, divorce coaches, real estate agents, and mental health counselors that work together to address each area of your life that requires attention. We work with you to create a strategy that will enable you to meet your objectives and successfully get your life on track. This plan is tailored to your specific needs, and often includes assistance with financial issues and maintaining stability for your children throughout the process. Our goal is to help you work through the process with ease and to minimize your stress as we help you accomplish your goals. We strive to cooperatively resolve your matter, and have the skills and experience to obtain positive results in the courtroom, if necessary.

The Traditional Approach

With the traditional divorce process, both parties hire divorce attorneys who provide legal advice and representation in settlement negotiations and at court hearings. Each divorce attorney advocates positions based on the personal wants, needs, and viewpoints of their client. The process may involve the use of formal legal procedures, known as “discovery,” to obtain financial and other relevant information. Ann Grant’s extensive litigation background allows her to aggressively pursue your rights should you need or want to go this route.

The Collaborative Approach

Much like mediation, the collaborative approach is a non-adversarial method of resolving a divorce without going to court. In this process, each party has their own “collaboratively-trained” attorney to assist and advise them. Often a team approach is used in this process, utilizing financial professionals and/or mental health professionals. A collaborative divorce is typically less costly and less acrimonious than a litigated divorce and affords each party their own attorney who guides them through the process.

Mediation

Divorce mediation is a voluntary process through which you make decisions together with your spouse based on an understanding of your views, your spouse’s views, and the reality you both face. A divorce mediator is “neutral”—and does not represent you or your spouse. The mediator may, however, make suggestions as to how the various disputed issues can be resolved and what is likely to happen if your matter is litigated in court. If both parties are willing to compromise, this approach may work for you. However, we do not recommend this approach when dealing with a narcissistic or abusive ex-partner.

We are the go-to divorce attorneys for complex, high-asset marital dissolutions.
We specialize in resolution of high net worth dissolutions, high-conflict divorces, and complex custody matters.
